Soar Speeds Ahead With Summer Updates

It seems like just yesterday we were announcing version 1.0 of our flagship Capture Suite, and now we’re almost to 1.5. Where did the time go? One theory: we were working hard on quality-of-life features, improving image quality and performance in service of removing the barriers creators face working in this mind-blowing new medium.

(That’s it, that’s actually what was happening).

One such feature, available now, is our new live calibration. When setting up a volumetric studio, sometimes it’s hard to know if your cameras are in the ideal spot and the time it takes to calibrate isn't suitable for experimentation. Live calibration changes that, allowing you to experiment and see the results in real-time. Take a look at the GIF below to see what we mean.

Coming in a few weeks is Android & Meta Quest support. We know this is an often-requested feature and we are excited to deliver a performant solution for volumetric video on the Quest and other Android-based devices.

Speaking of performance, you can soon expect massive improvements in the time it takes to export an OBJ sequence. Also, our UI is improving to include contextualized troubleshooting steps, ensuring the smoothest possible experience. Finally, we’re excited to release improvements to our depth de-noising and hole-filling algorithms to take the quality up even further.

But it’s not just about software features. We’re also announcing our new No-Mystery Box pre-configured hardware package. Tinkering with hardware can be loads of fun, but we want to see you creating in volumetric as quickly as possible. That is why you can now purchase all the equipment you need directly from us through our website — fully vetted, no mystery.

Finally, while we celebrate all of our customers, we are particularly stoked about our first stage in Asia, courtesy of MetaverseXR in Thailand.
